Electronic I Form to promote trade and economic activities

Lahore  - The Electronic I Form will play a big role to promote trade and economic activities in the country as it would help business community to get their import related jobs done quite easily.
These views were expressed by Director State Bank of Pakistan Fazal Mahmood, LCCI Vice President Nasir Saeed, Additional Director Reforms & Automation Abdul Haye Sheikh, Collector Customs Zulfiqar Younas and former LCCI Vice President Aftab Ahmed Vohra while speaking at the Orientation on “Electronic I-Form (EFI) Module” here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Director State Bank of Pakistan Fazal Mahmood said that Electronic I Form will promote paperless economy and provide facilities to the businessmen who are playing laudable role for economic uplift of the country. He said that Electronic I Form will save precious time of the importers and they would be able to done their work while sitting at their places. The LCCI Vice President Nasir Saeed said that purpose of the orientation session is to educate the representatives of private sector about the EIF Module which is going to be launched shortly by Directorate of Reforms & Automation.
He said that it is need of the hour to make full use of information technology as it not only ensures transparency but also guarantees process simplification and efficiency enhancement for all the stakeholders. I am sure that with the introduction of EIF Module, certain procedural hitches will be addressed automatically which in turn will improve the image of public sector.
LCCI Vice President said that the Lahore Chamber is comprehensively working on improving the index of Ease of Doing Business. One of the factors which determine the overall ranking is trading Across Border. Pakistan stands at 169th place out of 189 countries. This facility will greatly contribute in improving this ranking. It is obvious that the users will face some problems at initial stage but I hope that your department would take them seriously to increase the efficiency and accuracy of this module in times to come.
