ISLAMABAD: Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Dr Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal on Monday told Minister for Finance Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar that there is no ban on Pakistani currency in his country, the Finance Ministry said.

The two high-ups discussed the reported ban on the holding of Pakistani rupee in Afghanistan by the phone.

During their conversation, Zakhilwal assured that the Afghan Government has imposed no such restriction on the holding of Pakistani currency and it is freely convertible like other currencies, a statement said.
