Efforts on to boost textile exports to Turkey

ISLAMABAD - Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey, Muhammad Haroon Shaukat has stated that Pakistani textile products were of highest quality and the country’s exports could be further boosted by showcasing state-of-the-art textile products.
He expressed these views while visiting Pakistani stalls at a three-day Texworld exhibition in Istanbul.
Pakistan’s ambassador said textile industry was considered as the backbone of Pakistan’s economy and assured that the Embassy of Pakistan will provide every possible help to Pakistani textile exporters to market their products in Turkey and the region. About 14 leading Pakistani textile manufacturers and exporters participated in the premiere of Texworld Istanbul, an apparel fabrics and accessories fair held from November 4 to 6, according to a message received here from Istanbul on Friday. Consul General Istanbul Dr Yousaf Junaid, who made all arrangements for the exhibition, said Pakistani textile products were having an edge over its competitors.
He said Pakistani products were produced with state-of-the-art technology and Pakistan was an important regional textile hub for quality textile products. All world renowned brands of textile were manufactured in Pakistan, he added.
The Pakistan participating companies presented cotton and functional fabrics, fibers and yarns. About 10 countries were represented by 115 exhibitors from China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Pakistan, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey.
The exhibition offered an excellent opportunity where Pakistani products were showcased to buyers and professional visitors from Turkey and from the surrounding regions, including the Middle East and the Gulf States, Central Asia, Russia, Eastern Europe and North Africa.
Trade Development Authority of Pakistan facilitated the participation of some companies while few more Pakistani companies participated under their own arrangements.
