LAHORE (PR) - National conference of WAPDA/electricity workers and accounts/audit/commercial assistants and accountants was held on Wednesday under aegis of All Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric Workers Union CBA at Bakhtiar Labour Hall.

Hundreds of trade union representatives and workers from all over the provinces including Islamabad participated in the conference. The conference was addressed by veteran trade union leader Khurshid Ahmed, general secretary of the Union, Muhammad Shafique, Tariq Pervez, Aqib Sheikh, Akram Zaki, Rana Muhammad Akram, Ayoub Lodhi, Hassan Munir Bhatti,Mubbashar Waqas, Muhammad Safdar, Mirza Latif, Nadeem Raza, Javed Khalid, Ch. Akram and other representatives.

The participants demanded WAPDA Authority and electricity management to upgrade pay scales of accounts/audit/commercial assistants and allow special allowance to post graduates employees. The house also lauded the decision of WAPDA chairman and WAPDA Authority to accept just demand of the workers for grant of one-month salary as bonus to all the employees.
