Low gas pressure hits Lahore CNG stations

LAHORE (PPI) - CNG stations have closed their business in major parts of the city due to low pressure of gas and motor vehicles were facing serious problems due to closure of CNG outlets. According to details, the owners of CNG stations have forced to close their business due to low pressure. The different areas where CNG was not available including Gulberg, Lahore Cantt., Model Town, Ferozepur Road, Johar Town, Township, Defense and north parts of the city. Due to closure of CNG pumps the motorists were facing hardships and lot of vehicles were found standing on roads due to non-availability of CNG. The public transport system has also badly affected in city and mostly rickshaws, wagons, buses which were converted into gas not seen on roads. On the other hand, petrol and diesel sale has increased due to shortage of CNG. All Pakistan CNG Association Chairman Ghias Paracha has condemned the low pressure of gas and said 50 percent of stations have been closed due to low pressure of gas. He also criticised the SNGPL decision to curtail the gas for CNG stations in two days a week and said that association would not accept two days loadshedding of gas.
