LAHORE BISP DG Punjab Shahid Aslam Mohar has said that BISP was started for the welfare of the poor people and basic theme of the programme was to eradicate poverty from the country and women empowerment, says a press release. He said that above 4 million families are getting benefits from BISP and after the completion of poverty survey more families will be entered transparently in the social safety net of BISP. Regarding poverty survey, DG Punjab said that the survey has been completed in Lahore as well as in some other districts. The survey process will completed in Punjab as well as in the other provinces by the end of this June. This is very first poverty survey in the history of Pakistan for the judgment of the poverty level in country. He said that in Waseela-e-Haq Programme the soft and interest free loan of 3 Lac are given to the eligible and poor families after computerised draw, so that they can do their own businesses and put their efforts for the development.
