Telenor initiates relief efforts in flood affected areas

ISLAMABAD (PR): Aimed at extending relief and assistance to the flood affectees of Punjab and AJK, Telenor Pakistan has announced a contribution of Rs20 million. Following the need assessment of the affected areas to determine the unmet needs of the victims, the relief goods will be provided by Telenor Pakistan’s emergency response partner, Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to over 320 flood affected families. The contribution will be utilized by PRCS to provide over 2,200 individuals with nonfood items including tents, blankets, tarpaulin sheets, Kitchen set, lamp hurricane, stove, jerry can, hygiene kit, shelter toolkit, CGI sheets and mosquito nets. Moreover, under Telenor Pakistan’s employee volunteerism initiativeTelenor Hum Qadam, volunteers will assist PRCS during distribution whereas the employees will also continue with their tradition of personally donating to the cause.
