ISLAMABAD - Caretaker Federal Minister for Industries & Production Shahzada Ahsan Ashraf Shiekh has directed to stop all type of appointments/recruitments in Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) until the new Board of Directors (BoD) is constituted.
Ministry of Industries & Production said the PSM BoD, which is comprised of eight members along with the Secretary Ministry of Production and Chairman PSM, will be constituted soon.
The Minister said that recruitments/appointments would only be made after the prior approval of the board. He termed these measures inevitable for the survival of Pakistan Steel Mills. Earlier, chairman Pakistan Steel Mills during his briefing told the Minister that Pakistan Steel Mills was already working below its optimal capacity level and running into loses due to the excess of manpower.
