Rs 16b for Sindh T&C dept allocated

KARACHI – The Sindh government has allocated Rs 16 billion for the Transport and Communication (T&C) department of Sindh in the provincial budget for next fiscal year 2012-13. According to budget documents, the T&C department of Sindh government will utilise the allocated amount on a total of 1019 schemes including 404 ongoing and 615 new schemes in Sindh. The amount of Rs12.421 billion will be spent on the ongoing 404 schemes of the T&C department however the remaining Rs.3.578 billion will be utilised on 615 new development schemes of the department.The Govt of Sindh has allocated the budget on the maintenance of roads, bridges, and other projects in the budget 2012-2013. The govt has allocated Rs 4.413b for repair various roads in Sindh. The govt in the new fiscal budget allocated 4.223b for construction of roads in various parts of the province.
