KARACHI (PR): Thrill, adventure and excitement ruled SSGC Sports Festival 2014 as games moved from early rounds to decisive stages on 5th and 6th days of the 4-week extravaganza.  The evening of 9th May saw thrilling games of bowling between SSGC’s eight inter-divisional teams at Arena in Karsaz Road.
 IT Lions emerged winners by scoring a total of 419 points and bagged Gold Medal. CS Dolphins were runner-ups and silver medalists by the virtue of scoring 384 points while Finance Falcons trailed behind the Dolphins by just 18 points to earn bronze. 
Cricket, one of the Festival’s most sought after sports, moved into the semi-final stages when CS Dolphins convincingly beat Distribution Dragons by 9 wickets to qualify for the last four spot. Dolphins’s one-sided win can be attributed to its batsman Javed who scored a brilliant 31.
From Dragons, Salim Chakarani top scored with 18.  In semi-finals IT Lions will square off with CS Dolphins while MS Kangaroos and Finance Falcons will compete against one another for a spot in the final.
MS Kangaroos dominated the highly absorbing game of golf played in DHA Golf Club when its star golfers Colonel (R ) Shoaib and Brigadier (R) Waqar teed off with precision to net 36 and 37 under par to win gold and silver medals. 
On the other hand, Kamran Nagi of ES Panthers netted 40 under par to help his division earn bronze.
