Call to resolve energy crisis

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Pakistan Computer Association (PCA) has urged the government to take business community into confidence in order to improve the economic activities in the country. According to a statement issued here on Monday, PCA has urged the government to resolve the energy crisis in the industry. The Association sought remedial measures for further enhancing the trust and confidence of business community. Speaking at a meeting, central president of PCA, Munawar Iqbal said that besides redressing the issue of political uncertainty, the government ought to come forward with a comprehensive action plan. In this connection, steps need to be identified so that key issues regarding businesses, trade as well as overall economy could be dealt in an effective manner, he added. Munawar Iqbal said that energy crisis and high inflation were the issues that demand urgent measures. He said that low foreign and local investments should also be a matter of concern and hence, appropriate steps to redress the problems, he said. Iqbal suggested that the government should consult private sector to confront with challenges related to economy effectively. The proposals from business community could be sought as the scale of challenges demands a collective national wisdom and integrated policy, he concluded.
