Union reiterates demand for resolving workers issues



LAHORE (PR): The government should intervene to reduce the rates of electricity after fall in the rates of oil and develop hydel power stations and dams on war footing basis. The govrnment should introduce reforms in state owned enterprises to raise their productivity and not privatize them as their privatisation would be against the public interest. Otherwise, the workers would be compelled to launch countrywide protest. The government should ensure safe working conditions to the workers.
These demands were raised in the national executive committee of All Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric Workers Union C.B.A held on Thursday at Bakhtiar Labour Hall here, which was participated by the elected representatives from all the provinces and metropolitan capital. Khurshid Ahmed, General Secretary of the Union, appealed to the working class to forge unity in order to strengthen the struggle for making success to abolish the outdated feudal and capitalist system.
By a resolution the house urged the Prime Minister to intervene to settle legitimate demands of the workers and demanded to WAPDA & electricity management to get accepted the pending just demands of the workers.
