LAHORE – The FBR Board-in-Council has appointed two deputy chairmen to look after day-to-day affairs due to engagement of the chairman.
The business community has appreciated the decision and termed it a decision in right direction that would strengthen public-private sectors liaison. Former LCCI VP Aftab Ahmad Vohra said that the new Deputy Chairmen Shahid Rahim Sheikh and Malik Abdul Samad are not only experienced but also have an excellent track record that would help solve business community issues.
“Due to ongoing economic scenario and pressing engagement of the FBR chairman, it was very difficult to have a direct access. So, he said, it is very wise of the part of the FBR to appoint two deputy chairmen to look after day-to-day affairs. Aftab Vohra said that it was a long-standing demand of the businessmen community that deputy chairman should be appointed to exclusively deal with the issues of urgent nature.
