Hand washing day celebration
HAFIZABAD (PR): In connection with hand washing day celebrations, an awareness and demonstrative activity was organized in Govt High School No2, Madina Colony Hafizabad. The activity was co-organized by Save the Children Pakistan and Government of Punjab with an aim to sensitize school children on the concepts and significance of hand washing in order to enable them to defeat deadly disease ie, diarrhoea. Globally the month of October is marked with hand washing awareness and various events are organized with the same theme in almost all parts of the world.

Pfizer supporting awareness about pneumonia
KARACHI (PR): In observance of World Pneumonia Day, Pfizer is supporting efforts to raise awareness of pneumococcal pneumonia, who’s at risk, and how to prevent this sometimes serious disease—a prominent cause of death throughout the world. Pneumonia is the leading cause of death in children worldwide. In fact, every 20 seconds, somewhere in the world, a child dies from pneumonia.iii Additionally, people face increased risk of infection as they get older due to age-related decline of the immune system.
Pneumonia is characterized by inflammation of the lungs that causes air sacs in the lungs to fill with fluid or pus, which can lead to a cough, fever, chills and difficulty breathing, among other symptoms.3 The infection is primarily caused by bacteria, though it also can be caused by viruses or fungi.
ACCA networking session for members today

Saad attends 7th consular moot in Iceland
ISLAMABD (PR): Iceland consulate generalSaad Mahmood recently attended the gathering of over 130 Consuls of Iceland from 57 countries at the Consular Conference that the Ministry for Foreign Affairs organized in Harpa Conference Centre in Reykjavik (the Capital of Iceland). The purpose of the conference was to increase and strengthen the ties of these foreign representatives and acquaint them with Iceland’s economic situation, business community, tourism, arts and business opportunities as well as other things.
Foreign Minister Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson (Progressive Party) said in his opening speech that it was gratifying to welcome the Consuls to Iceland, for they had undertaken a long trip at their own expense to become better acquainted with Iceland and its people. The total number of Iceland’s consuls abroad is 243, and they work in 89 countries.
