ISLAMABAD : PTA and FIA teams conducted two successful raids at Lahore areas of Zakir Plaza near Thokar Niaz Baig and Manga Mandi, in connection with seizing illegal gateway exchanges termination of Grey International calls using VoIP.   During the raid at Manga Mandi five VoIP-GSM Gateways and hundred of Mobile SIMs along with other supportive hardware were seized. The culprit was also arrested. The raids resulted at Zakir Plaza  confiscated illegal setups consists of sixteen operational VoIP-GSM Gateways and other supportive hardware.
This illegal exchange was utilizing four DSL connections for termination of Grey International calls.
It may be added that PTA is observing the international traffic coming in to the country, round the clock to detect gray telecom traffic. The aim of monitoring is to identify the illegal gateway exchanges and track the elements operating them. Such exchanges bring huge loss to the national exchequer as well as to the telecom sector.
