Youth must get technical training: Minister

LAHORE - Provincial Minister for Industries, Commerce & Investment Ch. Muhammad Shafiq said that youth must be lured to get technical training to take part in the socio-economic development of the country and eradication of unemployment and poverty alleviation. Govt of the Punjab expects best results, in this regard, from Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA). It is because the only empowered body having such capabilities is TEVTA in Punjab. He said this while talking to the senior management of TEVTA, on the occasion of his visit to TEVTA Secretariat on Thursday.
While briefing him about the performance of TEVTA, Chief Operating Officer TEVTA Jawad Ahmed Qureshi said, efficient monitoring system for the evaluation of TEVTA management and field staff is well placed and regular reports from the field are generated.
On the basis of such information further guidance is provided to the Principals and punitive actions are also taken whenever necessary.
Monthly meetings of Zonal Managers and Districts Managers are also arranged on regular basis at TEVTA head office. TEVTA is also in communication with foreign bodies like ILO, World Bank, JICA etc. to get financial and technical assistance to complete a number of projects which are imperative for the development of TVET sector in Punjab.
