CCAC to resolve traders' issues: Tahira

RAWALPINDI - Collector Customs Sarwat Habib Tahira said that keeping in view the difficulties being faced by the business community regarding Islamabad Dry Port a collector custom advisory committee (CCAC) would be constituted to resolve the problems. To facilitate the traders is our top priority and no stone would be left unturned in this regard, she said. She expressed these views during a meeting with Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) President, Syed Ali Raza Shah, during her visit to the Chamber here on Monday. On the occasion, former presidents Sabir Hussain Butt, Najam Malik and members of the executive committee were also present. Sarwat Habib said that the collector would play a vital role to enhance business activities at the dry port and all the other problems of the traders would be resolved with mutual understandings and dialogues. RCCI President, Ali Raza, said that the chamber always supported the Governments vision to enhance revenue. He said that traders were facing immense problems on the dry port. He added that owing to non-availability of permanent labourers at the port traders had to bear huge financial losses. He demanded of the Government to provide the traders with proper labourers to clear the containers at the port.
