Remittances up

karachi - Overseas Pakistanis remitted an amount of $6077.82m in first four months of current fiscal year (FY15), showing an impressive growth of 15.21pc compared with $5275.61m received during the same period of the last fiscal year (FY14).
The inflow of remittances during October 2014 from Saudi Arabia, UAE, USA, UK, GCC countries (including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman) and EU countries amounted to $374.65m, $318.59m, $213.39m, $185.55m, $153.09m and $30.28m respectively compared with the inflow of $353.46m, $276.48m, $225.25m, $197.08m, $157.32m and $40.11mrespectively in October 2013. Remittances received from Norway, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Japan and other countries during the last month amounted to $107.58m as against $97.97m received in the same month of the last fiscal year (FY14).
