PIA adds two A-320 Airbuses into fleet

KARACHI - Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has received delivery of two A320 aircraft from Air VIA, Bulgarian Airways on wet lease. The two A320 aircraft arrived at Jinnah International Airport on Monday. These A320 aircraft will be deployed on domestic and international routes. PIA plans to induct another 10 A320 aircraft on a six year dry lease with expected deliveries by March 2015 while five 60 seater ATR 72 aircraft that will be inducted in PIA fleet by December 2014. Managing Director PIA Shahnawaz Rehman, sharing his views on the arrival of the aircraft, said that the airline plans to induct more fuel efficient aircraft in its fleet which will help increase revenue and improve the flight schedule of the airline.

The aircraft are being inducted keeping in view the airline’s requirement and with complete transparency in accordance with PPRA rules.
