KARACHI – Pakistan’s exports decreased by 3 per cent during the first nine months of the current fiscal year (2011-12).
The cumulative trade figures showed that country’s exports during July-March 2011-12 were $17.19 billion, while in the corresponding period of the last year 2010-11 exports were $17.73 billion, which shows a decline of 3 per cent.
Imports during July-March 2011-12 were $33.285 billion as compared to $29.017 billion during the same period of the year 2010-11, registering 14.71 percent growth.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s exports during March 2012 were valued at $ 2.001 billion which were 18.76pc lower than the level of $2.463 billion in during March 2011. Imports during March 2012 were valued at $ 3.497 billion, registering a growth of 2.34 per cent over the imports of $3.417 billion in March 2011.
