AKBL, SBTE ink MoU
LAHORE (PR): Askari Bank Ltd (AKBL) and Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE) have signed an MoU whereby AKBL will offer its consumer banking products i.e. credit card, personal finance, auto finance, mortgage finance to SBTE employees on preferred rates and flexible terms & conditions. The signing ceremony was attended by Saeed Ahmed Siddiqui, Chairman SBTE. Key executives from both the sides were present at the occasion. This special arrangement between AKBL & SBTE will facilitate SBTE employees with their long & short term financing needs enabling them to fulfill their dreams of better home, car, and living.

Mobilink competition
ISLAMABAD (PR): Mobilink Foundation in collaboration with Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) organised the ‘Mobilink Road Safety Painting Competition’ at the Open Air Theater Shakarparian, Islamabad. Hundreds of children from government and private schools of the twin cities took part in the competition. Omar Manzur, Head of Corporate Communication Mobilink, praised the art of the school children.

 and encouraged them to learn about road safety measures.

Speaking to the audience, he said, “Every year thousands of people are affected by road accidents, and much of this distress can be prevented by exercising a little care and vigilance. With this initiative, these young children have helped Mobilink Foundation and ITP share a public service message to educate our citizens towards preventing loss of life and increasing awareness in the public.”

Novel launched

KARACHI (PR): Dr Shaheen Haee’s novel “Badaltay Moasum”, written on mental disorder (Bipolar), has been launched in Karachi. In the novel three characters suffered Bipolar disorder. The novel is a strive to aware the society about mental disorders. Welcome Book Port Karachi has published and circulated the novel.

UMT associate professor
among top 25 economists
LAHORE (PR): Dr Dawood Mamoon, Associate Professor & CoD, Department of Economics, University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore, has been ranked 21 among top 25 economists of Pakistan. Economists like Nadeem-ul-Haq (Ex. Chairman Planning Commission) and Asad Zaman (VC Pakistan Institute of Development Economics) have also been ranked in the list.
IDEAS is the International Repository of Economists worldwide that registers their research work. It also ranks the authors of these works based on impact factor of their research.
The work of Dr. Dawood Masood has been appreciated and acknowledged greatly.

Lahore’s first underground auditorium unveiled
LAHORE (PR): Indian performers and story tellers Mahmood Farooqui and Danish Hussain narrated chapters from the stories of Amir Hamza and Omer-o-Ayar from Dastangoi. The event was held at the inaugural ceremony of Beaconhouse-Newlands’ state-of-the-art auditorium at DHA Phase VI. A gathering of over 700 were present at the event.
Mrs Nasreen Kasuri, chairperson Beaconhouse, said she was happy to gift Lahore with a new 700-seat auditorium. Mrs SaleemaHashmi, the dean of BNU’s visual school of art and design, said she was very happy to see a new and modern auditorium in Lahore. It was a great initiative by Beaconhouse-Newlands to promote Urdu literature amongst the youth.

Roots, PTCL cementing ties
ISLAMABAD (PR): Roots International Schools and PTCL have undergone a collaboration to nurture education in Pakistan. This bilateral strategic relationship has been cemented to ensure the availability and transparency of education system in Pakistan.
