RAHIM YAR KHAN - The budget proposal to waive off import duty on hybrid cars would reduce the price and promote the use of these environment friendly vehicles in the country. Lauding various aspects of the national budget for next fiscal year, Ch Iftikhar Anjum, senior representative of the car dealers association of Rahim Yar Khan, said that price reduction of Rs 300,000 to 600,000 could occur as far as hybrid cars are concerned. World over the use of hybrid cars is increasing due to multiple reasons, he highlighted.
As opposed to petrol guzzling and CNG dependent cars, fuel efficient hybrid cars rely largely on batteries with small consumption of petrol,Anjum said.
