LAHORE - Lahore Tax Bar Association (LTBA) President Zahid Attiq Chaudhry has alleged that issuance of SRO 98 is a deliberate step to create a new controversy between taxpayers and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).Talking to media in his office here on Friday, he alleged that this new SRO would help feathering the nests of the FBR officers and inventor of this SRO should be congratulated. It would not only increase collection of the Board temporarily but also help the FBR officials to take commission on refund of collection made under this SRO.Zahid said that under this new SRO every registered company would deposit one-fifth of the sales tax on any invoice by its supplier with the FBR. He was of the view that it would enhance burden on the businessmen and deduction of sales tax would be three times higher than the actual amount.
