Over 20,000 visitors throng India Show in two days
 
 
 

LAHORE  - About 30,000 are expected to visit the Second India Show-2014 while on first two days more than 20,000 visitors thronged Expo Centre Lahore, where over 100 stallholders showcased a large number of Indian products, said the management of the exhibition.  The mega event featured a variety of Indian products for Pakistani buyers.
The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan facilitated the Indian trade delegates and arranged B2B meetings with their Pakistani counterparts on agro food, gems and jewellery, marbles, services and textile and clothing sector.  
The Expo Centre was well decorated to welcome the guests. The three-day event will provide an opportunity to the buyers and the sellers to interact on various business matters. People to people interaction through trade scenario will help foster economic prosperity in the region.
The office-bearers of FICCI said that endeavour this time is to set new benchmarks of success guided by the theme of building partnerships through economic engagement to promote inclusive growth in the region. To serve this purpose, a strong presence of Indian industry has been ensured with more than 90 Indian companies representing sectors as diverse as textiles, transport, agriculture and allied services, healthcare, gems and jewellery, readymade garments, steel industry, warehousing, handlooms, construction equipment, jute products, industrial paints and consumer durables.
The Pak-India trade and industry leaders pledged to continue to work consistently towards establishing a strong foundation of India-Pakistan economic ties. The positive vibes will translate into a significant leap in transactions and flow of goods across the border.
Trade has already accelerated with the formal exchange of goods between India and Pakistan increasing from $250 million in 2003 to $2.4 billion in 2013, showing an annual growth rate of 25 percent in the last 10 years.
