i8 Global welcomes Advisory Board members

Zong and LUMS forge strategic partnership
LAHORE (PR): Zong and LUMS have entered into a strategic partnership through an MoU for the development of a state-of-the-art 4G research lab at the varsity.
Signed here the other day, the MoU would pave the way for Pakistan’s leading telecom company and the most advanced 4G service provider to give hundreds of students of Pakistan’s top-ranked business management university Lahore University of Management Sciences, the opportunities to polish their academic endeavours on latest technological lines. ZTE would provide technical assistance in this regard.

The establishment of an ever-advanced featured 4G research lab implies that the students of LUMS would be able to acquire the related online material instantaneously with Zong’s unbeatable speed. To a great deal, this would help them make their respective assignments, research papers, thesis and related material more accurate, credible, authentic and research-oriented.  Three In-Building Solutions (IBSs) would be installed and a Mini-Customer Services Centre (CSC) would be set up at LUMS as part of the research lab. LUMS will also use Zong’s Enterprise Solutions. Moreover, the telecom company will assist the varsity students in their research projects and will offer them externships.

Warid Telecom joins hands with UWC
LAHORE (PR): Warid Telecom, a reputed cellular company in Pakistan, joined hands with United World Colleges for an event that took place at a local hotel. The gathering was aimed at bringing parents together to share their thoughts on their children who are studying on scholarships at leading colleges and universities around the globe.

The United World Colleges is a movement of people across every country in the world. SCB takes yet another step towards digitisation
KARACHI (PR): Standard Chartered Bank, a market leader in electronic payments, takes yet another step towards digitization by launching round the clock remote corporate cheque printing facility for its clients across Pakistan.
The clients can now print cheques any time of the day or week at their own premises, through the Bank’s internet based global delivery channel Straight2Bank. While existing options in the market today involve manual processes and authorization which is prone to error and risk, Standard Chartered’s solution is entirely automated with inbuilt security, controls and audit trail features.

‘Healthy Pakistan’ in July

KARACHI (PR): “The Redolent” is organising a 3-day conference & exhibition in the second week of July 2016 with the name of “Healthy Pakistan” at the Expo Center Karachi.

Coca-Cola, UNDP to fund water management project
LAHORE (PR): The Coca-Cola Company has partnered with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pakistan for the “New World” programme, focused towards community water stewardship and adaptation to climate change. Under this Rs 16 million programme, Coca-Cola will partner with reputed NGO, Mountain & Glacier Protection Organization (MGPO), for integrated water resource management, safe drinking water and sanitation services in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Targeted outputs of this project include irrigation of 355 hectares of land, installation of 17 water points for sustainable access to safe drinking water and sanitation services for 4,000 people.
This project will also help empower 1,400 women and 500 youth with opportunity to earn livelihood through completion of this project.
This project is in line with the Company’s CSR strategy, allowing for expansion of the global and local outreach in regard to water stewardship, targeting 100% water replenishment goal by 2020. The target area of this project is Siksa Village, whose livelihood is solely dependent on agriculture and tourism. The local community is at a high risk because of the remote location and due to harsh weather conditions. The on-site work will start in April 2016, which will include construction of pipe irrigation system and water beds.
Acknowledging this partnership, Rizwan U.
