Resolution to rename SME Bank passed

LAHORE The workers union and staff of the SME Bank in collaboration with Pakistan Peoples Party leaders has approved a unanimous resolution to rename the SME bank as Peoples Finance Bank. The resolution was passed during a meeting of the CBA union, which held here at a local hotel on Saturday. PPP leader Senator Jahangir Badar chaired the meeting while Coordinator to President Naveed Chaudhry, Advisor to Prime Minister Mian Mohammad Ayyub, President SME bank Ltd Mr Ihsan-ul-Haq Khan and Assistant Vice President Khalid Mustafa were also present on this occasion. Addressing the participants on this occasion, Jahangir Badar said that any single political party could not overcome the challenges being faced by the country at present. He also said that the PPP would bring the rich into the tax net instead of imposing the taxes on the already inflation-hit people. Advisor to PM on youth affairs Mian Mohammad Ayyub said that the government is working on a plan to provide soft loans worth Rs 500,000 to one million to the unemployed youth. He said that this new scheme would be launched through SME bank. President SME bank Ltd Mr Ihsan-ul-Haq Khan said that they are striving hard to make the bank as one of the leading financial institutions in the country.
