KOICA Alumni Association’s annual reception
KARACHI (PR): KOICA Alumni Association of Pakistan (KAAP) & Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), official donor agency of the Republic of Korea held an Annual Alumni reception 2014. More than 120 higher government official from different Government Ministries attended the program.
Mr. Sung Choon-ki, the Director General of KOICA Pakistan said that I am very pleased to share with you that number of our alumni is over 1000 this year. We have established a KOICA-KAAP Education Support Fund to help deprived student in Pakistan. Dr. Muhammad Akram Shaikh, President KOICA Alumni Association of Pakistan said that this year is the first time regional alumni associations are formed & activated to impart their important role in enhancing bilateral relation between Korea & Pakistan.  With collaboration of KOICA & KAAP and executive members this year we have also formed five advisory groups in the area of water & sanitation, Education, Health, Agriculture & Rural Development, ICT and Textile.

JS Bank sponsors Pakistan A vs Kenya series
LAHORE (PR): JS Bank limited (JSBL) has sponsored a cricket series between Pakistan A and Kenya cricket team to help revive international cricket in Pakistan. The five match one day series will be played in Lahore at Qaddafi Stadium. It is the first time that any International cricket team cricket is visiting Pakistan after the horrific attack on the Sri Lanka cricket team, back in 2009. This tour is of considerable significance to both the PCB and JSBL as they hope the successful staging of the series will be the first step towards reviving cricket in Pakistan and convince other nations to tour the country.

K-Electric workshop on energy efficiency
KARACHI (PR): KE was pleased to announce that the power utility in collaboration with the barrier removal to the Cost-Effective Development and Implementation of Energy Efficiency Standards and Labeling (BRESL) and ENERCON arranged a launching workshop of MEPs and Labels for CFLs manufacturers / importers here at a local hotel. The workshop is being arranged to launch the second phase of the national policy for labeling.
The workshop was attended by representatives of government, BRESL, UNDP, ENERCON, K-Electric, NED, Sir syed University, Dawood University and IoBM.
The workshop also included representatives of Ministry of Science and its constituent organizations PCSIR, PSQCA, K-Electric, PNAC; Ministry of Industries, EDB, Ministry of Commerce and various associations.

PLDDB striving to preserve pure Sahiwali breed
LAHORE (PR): Board of Directors of Punjab Livestock & Dairy Development Board have inaugurated the Genetic Improvement Center (GIC) at Livestock Experiment Station, Khizerabad to preserve and propagate the pure Sahiwali Cow Breed for better milk and meat production in the province. PLDDB Board Directors visited Khizerabad for GIC inauguration includes Syed Yawar Ali, Nabeel Arif, Ashiq Aoluk, Aftab Ahamd Watoo, Professor Fazal Jawad and Nasir Rafiq. While talking to the journalists.
 BODs of PLDDB inaugurates Genetic Improvement Center at Livestock Experiment Station, Khizerabad
Syed Yawar Ali said that Sahiwali breed is one of the best breed in the world and PLDDB is striving to preserve the best breed. Establishment of GIC is also one of the efforts made for development of Sahiwali Cow. PLDDB will produce semen at GIC for artificial insemination of the cows, he added. On a question he said that Board is working towards right direction for the betterment of livestock sector.

MAP seminar
LAHORE (PR): Chief Executive TDAP SM Muneer at a Marketing Association of Pakistan seminar spoke about economy, exports & TDAP. He highlighted economic condition of Pakistan, electricity shortage, terrorism, poverty, security issues and high manufacturing cost. CE TDAP discussed restructuring of TDAP and recovery of Rs. 230m of Trade Policy subsidies by FIA. He stated that TDAP is organizing 118 exhibitions around the world and  after the success of single country exhibition “Aalishan Pakistan” in India, TDAP has plan to organize Aalishan Pakistan  in Europe and middle East.
CE TDAP has planned to host Expo Pakistan in February 2015 and has invited delegates from embassies and business community internationally.
