Rupee gains 70 paisas in open market


KARACHI - The dollar witnessed gain against rupee in interbank market, dealers said on Monday.
It started the day’s trading at Rs 90.27 for buying, rose three paisas and closed at Rs 90.3 for buying and Rs 90.35 for selling. The Euro lost strength against local currency as it began the day’s trading at Rs 115.82 for buying, decreased Rs 1.36 and closed at Rs 114.46 for buying and Rs 114.66 for selling. The British currency fell against the rupee, it initiated the day’s trading at Rs 138.51 for buying, slumped 15 paisas and closed at Rs 138.36 for buying and Rs 138.56 for selling.
In open market the dollar recorded loss against the rupee, dealers said.
It began the day’s trading at Rs 91.2, declined 70 paisas and closed at Rs 90.5 for buying and Rs 91 for selling. The European currency fell down against rupee as it started the day’s trading at Rs 115.5, slumped Re 1 and closed at Rs 114.5 for buying and Rs 117 for selling.
The British pound lost strength against the rupee, it initiated the day’s trading at Rs 139.5, lost Rs 1.5 and closed at Rs 138 for buying and Rs 140.5 for selling.
