Global Compact Conference


PESHAWAR (PR) –KPK  Governor Engineer Shaukat ullah Khan, in his message read out to the delegates of  the 5th National Global Compact Conference at Peshawar assured that Government will extend its full support to business in embracing the ten principles of UNGC as it will help business in attaining sustainability and building their capacity to contribute to peace by generating decent employment and improving quality of life. Nawabzada  Mehmud Zeb, KPK Minister for Technical Education, Manpower Training, Mines and Minerals speaking as the Chief Guest emphasised upon the need for Government-Business cooperation in legislation for implementing rules of responsible business. He complimented the business in KPK for boldly confronting the hazards of terrorism and expressed the hope that they will continue to play their vibrant role in bringing peace to this conflict affected province through their responsible actions for which the UNGC principles provide tremendous opportunities.
The National Global Compact Conference organised by Global Compact Network Pakistan in collaboration with Employers Federation of Pakistan and KPK Chamber of Commerce and Industry was attended by a large number of representatives from Business, Government, Academia, NGOs and civil society drawn from the capital city of the most conflict affected province of Pakistan.
