LAHORE - Mobilink is Pakistan’s only non-financial company rated at Moody’s, says a Press release.
Moody’s recent rating action follows Moody’s decision to downgrade Pakistan’s foreign- and local-currency bond ratings to Caa1 from B3, with a negative outlook, on 13 July. This is not reflection of Mobilink’s operations or its own credit rating as an individual entity. At Moody’s non-financial corporates are not usually rated more than two notches above the sovereign. At Moody’s Mobilink still has the best possible rating for any Pakistani company. Moody’s in their press release have stressed that the rating action is not an indication of any deterioration in Mobilink’s credit fundamentals which have rather improved significantly over course of last couple of years. ”
