MIRPUR - The AJK government has kicked off a phased plan to establish new mega industrial estate over an area of 26,000 kanals land in the city. Estate is aimed at accelerating industrial development and would be established at Mirpur-Bhimbher Road near Khaliqabad town for which the required state-owned land was being acquired by the govt.
Govt was giving due attention to the promotion of business and industrial activities in AJK to benefit from conducive business atmosphere. The govt intends to give due facilities to the existing and intending entrepreneurs at par with other parts of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan to ensure speedy progress of the industrial sector in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The sources further said that since it was primarily the responsibility of the government to provide required infrastructure at the existing and proposed mega industrial zone in Mirpur, the plan also involved a network of wide roads, uninterrupted supply of power, water and telephone facilities.
The industrialization of Azad Jammu and Kashmir may prove to be helpful to overcome unemployment, particularly among the educated youth besides alleviating poverty in the undeveloped area.
