KARACHI
Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has said that cooperation of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is required for raising exports in the country, while it will eliminate various issues of traders.
He said the suggestions submitted by traders in Broadband Conference had already been presented to TDAP. He stated this during a meeting with a delegation of business community at his office, on Saturday. Additional Commissioner Karachi I Aslam Khoso, Additional Commissioner Karachi II Haji Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner General Shahzaib Sheikh and other relevant officers were also present on the occasion.
Shoiab Siddiqui said that through mutual coordination and realising the issues growth of industries and exports could be increased and economical progress could be made possible. A letter in this regard had also been sent to secretary TDAP in which the issues that were pointed out by experts in 4th Professionals Shipping Logistic & Supply Chain Management Conference were raised.
He said that the suggestions presented by the experts to resolve the issues would increase exports in Pakistan and stabilise the economy. Contrary to this if action over the suggestions could not be taken then it would discourage exporters.
Siddiqui said the relevant organisations should make strong coordination with traders. He said TDAP should gather Logistic and Supply Chain Management professionals and representatives of FPCCI, Trade and Industry Association on a single platform. Customs, Anti Narcotics Force, Federal Investigation Agency, K-Electric, Karachi Water & Sewerage Board, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Military Land and Cantonments, Sui Southern Gas Company, Karachi administration and Karachi police could also be added to that panel.
He said through the steps taken by TDAP better harmony, trust and coordination among industrialists, exporters and relevant public sectors could be established which would bring positive results to the exports of Pakistan, hence play an important role to stabilise the economy and progress of economy.
