Lahore - A high level delegation of renowned energy company of China Zonergy, led by its president Yu Yong, met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here on Saturday. The meeting agreed on speedy progress on 900MW solar project at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park Bahawalpur.
Talking to the delegation, Chief said that government is paying attention to nontraditional sources for generating energy. He told that Punjab government is executing 100MW project at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park Bahawalpur from its own resources and this project will start generating energy in the beginning of next year. He said that energy generating projects are being completed speedily and transparently. He said that import duty on solar equipments and panels has been abolished for facilitating investors. He said that all investment in the solar project of 900MW is of China.
Shahbaz Sharif said that all necessary steps including provision of infrastructure have been completed for 900MW solar project at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park Bahawalpur. He directed to constitute a joint committee for speedy progress on 900MW solar project.
President Chinese Company Yu Yong said that Chinese company will carry out work speedily for completing 900MW project within stipulated period.
Meanwhile, Yu Yong and members of his delegation, while condemning the terror attack in a school of Peshawar, expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of children and teachers.
They said that like Pakistan, Chinese people are also deeply shocked over the tragic martyrdom of children and people of China equally share the grief of Pakistanis. Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that terrorists have committed cruelty against innocent children and the entire nation is shocked over this worst kind of terrorism. He said that those who committed barbarity against innocent children are beasts and deserve exemplary punishment.
