HBL awards cash prizes to Daanish Schools students
LAHORE (PR): Pakistan’s largest bank HBL, in an act of Corporate Social Responsibility, has awarded cash prizes to 3 students and their Project Incharge from Punjab Daanish Schools, Haasilpur Girls Campus in recognition of their outstanding performance in Intel Science & Engineering Fair, world’s largest international pre-college science competition, held in Los Angeles. A ceremony marking this event was held at Punjab Daanish Schools Head Office in Lahore.
The participants included Col (r) Ehtisham Anwar, Managing Director Daanish Schools, Faiq Sadiq, Head Payment Services HBL, along with other members of the HBL team. Col Ehtisham expressed his gratitude to HBL for offering financial awards to the students. Faiq Sadiq praised the students for their achievement and reaffirmed HBL’s commitment to women empowerment through education in Pakistan.

KFC ‘Mitao Bhook’ at SOS Children’s Village
KARACHI (PR): An evening of fun, festivity and giving back to the community: that’s what KFC Pakistan’s latest initiative Mitao Bhook celebrated on 18th of June at SOS Children’s Village. This CSR campaign hopes to help remove hunger from the lives of less privileged people in society. Led by the CEO Nigel Belton and Chairman Irfan Mustafa, Mitao Bhook received a warm response from partners and the general public.
Nigel Belton is credited for conducting a large scale campaign of the same kind by the name of Add Hope in South Africa where millions of children die of starvation or suffer from hunger related diseases.  The campaign aimed at donating money on every meal bought at KFC outlets to feed these children and give them a better life. The response of the South African people helped save many such children and Add Hope has now become a permanent feature in KFC outlets all across South Africa.
Nigel’s successful endeavor has been replicated to help the Pakistani community and enforce KFC’s image as the brand that cares. He showed great enthusiasm for the Mitao Bhook initiative and thanked the partners, Pepsi Co. and Menu Foods for helping out the cause. He hoped that the people of Pakistan would help make the venture a huge success and lead it to become an example of social responsibility done right.
Mitao Bhook has partnered with the SOS Children’s Village to contribute to the community’s brighter future. Under this initiative, 50 rupees from each SOS ‘Bucket’ bought at KFC will be paid to the SOS Children’s Village. The people present at the venue were given a tour of the Village, the facilities it provides to the children living at SOS. The audience applauded the staff and management who dedicated themselves to helping the children in need. Ms Surraiya Anwar, Chairperson of the SOS Children’s Village, expressed her appreciation over Mitao Bhook and said that such causes deserve to be put in a greater limelight so that more people can contribute to it. She hoped that KFC would continue to work to bring alive more vital initiatives, especially for children from the less privileged class.
The press conference was followed by lunch sponsored by KFC. The event showcased the new SOS buckets and the cause was welcomed with great enthusiasm all around.

CEO visits Pakistan Steel Hospital
KARACHI (PR): Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Steel Major General (r) Zaheer Ahmed Khan, while visiting Pakistan Steel Hospital, met with the patients and employees working at the hospital. Employees apprised the incumbent Chief Executive Officer about the problems being faced at the hospital. The CEO in order to resolve all the issues conveyed established, a Complaint Redressal Centre at Pakistan Steel Hospital which is responsible to resolve the issues immediately hence giving relief to the patients.
Besides that a 5-member committee under the chair of APEO (P&S) Capt (r) Shamsi Hassan is formed which will rationalize the panel agencies (Hospital and Laboratories) and will also rationalize the rates of Laboratories.
The committee will soon submit its report to Chief Executive Officer with its remarks.
It is further stated that complaints about provision of medicines by Medical Store have also been attended and the medicines are now supplied as per prescription of the doctors. Moreover, general cleanliness of the Hospital and Standard of Services have been improved.
 Special attention is given to the patients care/treatment. Administration of drugs is supervised by pharmacist. As a result of these step taken cash/company business at Pakistan Steel Hospital has increased. Bed occupancy rate has increased to 90%.
Furthermore, under Chief Executive Officer special directives such hospital/laboratories which have stopped rendering services due to non-payment are advised to resolve the matters immediately. In addition, these machines which were lying non-operational have been put into service after required repair/maintenance.

UMT holds Rector’s and Dean’s Ceremony 2014
LAHORE (PR): University of Management and Technology, Lahore organised Rector’s and Dean’s award ceremony 2014 to appreciate and acknowledge outstanding performance of students of Bachelors, Masters and MS in their study. The ceremony was attended by Deans and Directors of all schools, faculty members and students. The students who succeeded in obtaining 4.0 GPA across all semesters were conferred upon Rector’s award while other top ten students were selected from all schools for Dean’s merit award. 66 Rector’s merit awards and 188 Dean’s merit awards were given to the outstanding performers.
Rector UMT, Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad distributed the souvenirs and certificates among the position holders. Abid H K Sherwani, Director General UMT and Imran Zahid, the Controller Examination were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Hassan congratulated the students and said that I am so proud to see the dedication and hard work of UMT students. He also said that UMT is providing an excellent platform for the students to grow, shine and succeed.
It is worth mentioning that the position holders along with souvenirs and certificates will be given financial benefits as well. Students qualifying for Rector’s merit award will be given fee exemption in two courses of 3 credit hours each. The students qualifying for Dean’s merit award will be given exemption in one course of 3 credit hours.
