RAWALPINDI - Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman has said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would prove game changer for the economy of this region.
The chief minister said this during a meeting with RCCI delegation at his office in Islamabad, informed RCCI spokesman Shakeel here on Tuesday.
According to him, the CM also appreciated the pace of work at this project. CM, while expressing his views on the infrastructure of Gilgit Baltistan, said government was doing remarkable work to upgrade the infrastructure of this region and the completion of 7 km Tunnel Project in just 16 months was proof of federal government dedication and sincerity towards CPEC. He also welcomed the progress of tourism industry in GB that showed great acceleration in recent years.
President RCCI Mian Humayun Parvez, during meeting with Chief Minister, appreciated the GB government progress to strengthen the economy and he also assured maximum support from business community to invest in the tourism and hotel industry in Gilgit Baltistan . RCCI senior vice president Saqib Rafiq and vice president Aqil Obaid were also present in the meeting.
