KARACHI:-The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $24,461.4m on October 14, 2016. The break-up of the foreign reserves position showed that foreign reserves held by the SBP stood at $19,461.7m while net foreign reserves held by commercial banks were $4,999.7m. During the week ending 14th October, country’s total reserves increased by $969m to $24,461m. Whereas, the SBP’s liquid FX reserves increased by $1,052m to $19,462m during the week. The increase in SBP’s reserves is mainly attributed to proceeds of $1,000m against Pakistan Sukuk bonds.–Staff Reporter
