NADRA issues Watan Cards

LAHORE - NADRA has issued 65,000 Watan Cards to flood affected families which will ensure transparent disbursal of Rs 20,000 per family announced by the Govt of Pakistan. This was stated by Tariq Malik Deputy Chairman NADRA in a statement issued on Tuesday. NADRA is issuing these cards to the heads of the flood affected families from 22 sites in Sindh and Punjab. He said by now NADRA has processed approximately 70,000 CNICs in lieu of fresh and duplicate cards free of cost to the flood affectees on emergency basis. This service was provided as a relief to flood affectees who had either lost their ID cards in flood had never applied for one. He said NADRA has established its centers at the places notified by the federal and provincial authorities and the role of the local DCOs is crucial to ensure faster, disciplined and commotion-free delivery of Watan Cards at these centers. It is a testing time of DCOs management skills as they have to coordinate law and order situation on top of identification of correct flood hit area. Said Tariq Malik, Deputy Chairman NADRA. He said the people hailing from the declared affected areas through the provincial notification would be eligible for Watan Card irrespective of their gender.
