KARACHI - Economical growth is impossible without regional trade said Khuram Dastagir Federal Minister for Commerce while speaking at the luncheon ceremony hosted by the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry.
Dastagir urged that economy could not keep within the borders. We have to focus on untapped markets including Brazil, Africa and Asean countries to further boost up the country’s economy. It is the way to convert these benefits to common men, he added.
Federal Minister said GSP status is the grand trading opportunity for Pakistan and the commerce ministry puts its best effort to take the advantage of this status. GSP will be reviewed in 2016 and the appointments of commercial consular in entire world will start in 2015 without change of dignified commercial consular, he added.
We are not sourceless, marketing and value addition are the tool for the access to new markets, It will take some time to revamp the situation because it is the result destruction of decades.
Federal Minister showed satisfaction over the situation of the Karachi and appreciated the government initiatives over law and order situation in the city.
Talking over energy crisis he said new projects are in pipeline and the priority is to switch the furnace oil base units on coal to save the economy.
He assured his support for the business community regarding their concerns on refund issue and on dollar rate that should be between Rs 98-102.
Speaking on the occasion, SM Munir Chairman Trade Development Authority of Pakistan said in the vision and steps taken by the present government country export would be doubled. After the ban on Indian mango imposed by the Europe, Pakistan has a great opportunity to take the market share with the export of Hot Water Treated Mango.
