LAHORE: : Cities are facing 12 hours of powers cuts while loadshedding is carried for 15 hours in rural areas as hot and muggy weather prevails in many parts of the country. According to NTDC, electricity generation remained 14,600mw while 14,600mw demand was recorded across the country. National Power Control Centre increased the duration of power cuts due to load on the system. Tripping also surged due to technical problems in the supply system of power distribution companies. Despite government’s tall claims, loadshedding is being carried out during Iftar, Sehri and Taraweeh timings.
According to authorities, duration of scheduled and unscheduled loadshedding is unlikely to decrease until power demand declines.
