MOL dispatches two trucks with food packages for IDPs

PESHAWAR : MOL, Pakistan Oil and Gas Company, Wednesday dispatched two fully-loaded trucks with food packages catering for the needs of about 4,000 to 5,000 IDPs for Kohat division. MOL, a subsidiary of MOL Hungary and presently working in TAL Block consisting of districts of Karak, Kohat & Hangu. In a simple ceremony MD/CEO MOL Pakistan Akos Grosz handed over the trucks to Shehryar Afridi a local MNA from Kohat. In his message MD/CEO Akos Grosz said that MOL considers it its moral and social obligation to help these distressed people who had to leave their homes under difficult circumstances.

It may be recalled that MOL Pakistan has earlier been also extending help to disaster struck people whether they were earthquake victims or flood victims. He mentioned that during the earthquake, MOL Group donated five hundred thousand dollars.
It was also announced that an additional tranche worth Rs 3-4 million would also be sent to help IDPs settle in the second phase immediately after Eid. The Regional Advisor Middle East & Africa Ali Murtaza Abbas also present on the occasion stated, “The EVP of MOL Group Alexander Dodds would personally visit Pakistan for the distribution of the relief goods to the community”.
Lauding MOL Pakistan’s gesture, MNA Shehryar Afridi said that he on behalf of Kohat division appreciated the timely assistance extended by MOL Pakistan for people of NWA. The trucks, on arrival at Karak, would be handed over to Civil Administration Karak for distribution.
