Ejaz terms Withholding Tax on phones as ‘Jagga Tax’

ISLAMABAD -  Leader of Pakistan Muslim League (Zia) and Member National Assembly  have called the imposition of With Holding Tax on mobile phones as a “Jagga Tax” (Extortion).
On Sunday talking with media outside Parliament House, he said that despite of extending the net tax, government has started pick pocketing of the public while big investors and traders are not being brought in the circle of tax also.
“Attack on foreign tourists is not only condemnable but it is also an attack on the soft image of the country. Government although criticizes the terror attacks but didn’t follow up the incidents due to which incidents like these are increasing,” he added.
Ejaz-ul-Haq said that to overcome the terrorism, clear national policy should be adopted in which opinion of all stakeholders should be included.
Government is already earning billions of rupees by imposing indirect tax and now with the implementation of With Holding Tax it wants to increase the miseries of people, he concluded.
