Aptma welcomes induction of textile minister
KARACHI - OUR STAFF REPORTER - The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Central Chairman has welcomed the induction of a federal minister for the Ministry of Textile Industry which was vacant and awaiting its head.
He endorsed the decision of the Prime Minister to bring in Abbas Khan Afridi on the office of the Federal Minister of Textile Industry.
Siddik while felicitating the induction of Afridi said that being an experienced Afridi had enjoyed various portfolios in the past and trustworthy in the political arena, and said that it was a wise decision of the present government for providing a chance to a liberal personality to look after the affairs of the Textile Ministry in the current scenario independently.
Yasin Siddik prayed for the success of the new minister and urged that the current situation calls upon the government to take concrete steps for the progress of the textile industry which can be a mainstream towards leading the economic development of the country. He was confident that the new minister possesses all the potential and capability to thrive out the industry at the roads of progress and lead Pakistan in a new era of prosperity.
He hoped that the core issues of the textile industry like shortages of energy and raw materials and trade imbalances, etc. would be addressed immediately which will provide a sound ground to the textile industry to maximise its manufacturing abilities and cope up its export targets by maximising the opportunity of GSP+ provided by the European Union.
Chairman APTMA assured of full cooperation of APTMA towards meeting the challenges and opportunity especially benefiting the country in the earning of much needed foreign exchange. He also hoped the new Minister would strive for the advancement of the textile industry so that it can play its positive role in the progress of Pakistan.
