ISLAMABAD (INP) - Federal Minister for Professional and Technical Training Riaz Pirzada has said that the government is fully alive to the socio-economic imperatives and working to address the problems of unemployment, poverty and illiteracy from the country. The minister stated this while presiding over the ceremony of awarding certificates to trainees from different government and non-government sectors at Pakistan Manpower Institute here on Saturday. He said that human resource is the single most critical and important factor in today's viable entrepreneurship and public service delivery system. "Human resource development and utilisation have assumed increasing significance around the world," the minister emphasized. He said that managing the human and physical resource is becoming more complex than ever before because the nature of work is rapidly changing and increasingly being complicated because of emerging technologies. Riaz further said that the Ministry of Professional & Technical Training has been created to cater the national and international needs of professional and technically trained manpower. PMI DG Mohammad Azam in his address said that the institute has so far organized 300 training courses and more than 11,000 officers and executives from public and private sector organizations from all over the country have participated in the training programmes.
