ISLAMABAD (APP) - The newly appointed Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Telenor Pakistan, Sanjay Vaghasia, is yet to get a Pakistani Visa. Sanjay has replaced Peter Anthony Dindial, who has moved to India to head Unitech Wireless as his replacement. A well-placed source of Telenor Pakistan informed this scribe that the main hurdle in issuance of a Pakistani visa to Sanjay Vaghasia was yet to be identified. When contacted, Syed Hasnat Masood, Director Corporate Communications, Telenor Pakistan, said, It is true that Telenor Pakistans previous Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Peter Anthony Dindial, has moved onwards for an assignment in India where Telenor has recently bought ownership stake in Unitech Wireless. The candidate selected as the new CTO, Sanjay Vaghasia, is a Malaysian by three generations and is currently coming to Pakistan from Kuwait, Wataniya Telecoms (a QTCL Group Company) where he was serving since 2004. Vaghasia has extensive international experience in implementation, IT, planning, network engineering, and 3G. We are currently working on an agreement for his joining date. I have been informed by the concerned department that no official intimation has been received from the govt authorities concerning the CTOs visa. Telenor Pakistan is expecting any confirmation within next 7 to 10 days. As soon as we get any response, we would accordingly inform the media, he added.
