ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Privatisation, Petroleum and Natural Resources, Syed Naveed Qamar, is distributing 12 per cent shares of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), worth Rs 36 billion, among its employees here today (Wednesday). Under the newly introduced Benazir Employees Stock Exchange Option Scheme (BESOS), the government will award certificates of shares, free of cost, to the companys employees to make them partners in OGDCL. The people friendly policies of the government will leave positive impacts and the implementation of BESOS in the state owned entities (SOEs), which is also the implementation of the vision of late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto to empower the workers, will go a long way in the progress of the country, Syed Naveed Qamar said in a press conference recently. The 12 per cent shares of government of Pakistan will be distributed under BESOS among OGDCL employees here at OGDCL headquarters at 3:30pm, according to an official announcement. 438 million shares of OGDCL will benefit almost 10,576 employees.
