Safa conference from 29th

LAHORE - The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) will host the conference of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) this year in Lahore.
President ICAP Hafiz Mohammad Yousuf and President SAFA Naeem Akhtar Sheikh disclosed this in a curtain raiser event organised to announce the Conference.
This SAFA Conference2016 will be held on January29-30 at a local hotel in Lahore. President ICAP mentioned that the Council of the Institute was delighted and is very proud that its past president and current council member, Naeem Akhtar Sheikh has been elected as President SAFA this year. He emphasized that hosting this conference will bring together the South Asian countries and will open new doors of opportunities for Pakistan.
Hafiz Mohammad Yousaf added that this conference will serve the public interest and contribute towards development of economic policy, corporate governance, and growth of trade and industry and for a better tax regime. It has been the endeavour of ICAP to facilitate the government and public by suggesting efficient and effective ways for management of current economic issues.
Federal Minister of Finance Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal, representatives, delegates and professional experts of SAARC countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will participate in the conference.
“Convergence of world renowned professionals and experts on a single platform will enable the policy makers of the country to resolve the energy crisis and seek new dimensions of energy solutions,” he added. The country’s looming energy and water crisis have been the main concerns of our government and policymakers while our agriculture and industrial sectors have also been adversely affected. This forum will present many workable solutions to mitigate the negative effect of such crisis. Industry leading experts will share their expertise in various sessions of the conference.
Additionally, SAFA Conference 2016 will also feature a special panel discussion on the Role of Accountancy Profession in Bringing South Asia Together. “The aim behind this conference is to identify key challenges and opportunities and come up with innovative strategies and solutions to deal with them,” said President ICAP.
