LAHORE - Chinese delegation headed by Du Yonggang, President Yantai Chamber of Commerce Cheng Xiaoyon comprising of leading businessmen/ industrialists visited Lahore Transport Company headquarter here on Thursday.The LTC is entrusted with the mandate to provide comfortable, safe and affordable transport facilities to the general public, therefore there are ample of foreign direct investment prospects in transport unlike other sectors. “The detailed presentation and briefing was given to the Chinese delegation about the role of LTC in planning, enforcing and regulating the urban transport system,” stated the company. Secretary Transport Punjab Shaukat Ali, CEO LTC Khawaja Haider Latif and other senior officials including Mariam Khawar, Faisal Nisar, Badiur Rehman, Nasir Hussain and Abid Hussain was also present in the meeting. The Chinese officials appreciated the operational working and coordination of various sections of LTC and particularly eulogised the different initiatives such as progress on e-ticketing system, existing subsidy model for private transport operators, and future construction of bus terminal cum commercial complex.The main purpose of the visit of this delegation is to explore future avenues of investment in various sectors including urban transport and under the mode of public private partnership such kind of cooperation is inevitable for the economic development of the country. These relations are time tested and will strengthen the ties among the people of two nations. In this regard recent MoU signing ceremony of declaring Yantai and Lahore as twin cities would make a positive impact between two countries; this was stated by Du Yongang in a meeting with LTC officials.
