SSGC announces new schedule for CNG stations closure

KARACHI – While announcing new schedule for closure of CNG stations in its franchise areas for the current week, Sui Southern Gas Company has announced that all CNG stations in Sindh and Balochistan will remain closed for 24 hours from 9 am on Wednesday 28 December till 9 am on Thursday, 29 December, 2011. Another closure will also be observed from 9 am on Friday 30 December up to 9 am on Saturday 31 December 2011. This step is being taken by gas utility to improve the line pack position in all its franchise area which has been badly disturbed due to increase domestic gas loadshedding during the current winter season.
The management of SSGC has requested all the stakeholders to fully support company in handling low pressure situation more effectively as company is taking all measures to ensure uninterrupted gas supply and a stable pressure.
In a survey conducted by The Nation this problem badly affected the drivers and owners who are worried about their daily wages. In last few years’ government announced the rickshaw scheme for the jobless and a large number of people including masters and bachelor degree holders joined the profession because they did not find a job in their respective field.
