Warid contributes to IDPs, flood relief fund before Eid
LAHORE (PR): Warid Telecom, as a responsible corporate entity, has always taken the initiative to support its fellow Pakistani citizens in their time of distress. The company has announced a contribution of Rs. 5 million for IDPs and flood victims through Army Relief Fund. The employees of Warid also donated their individual salaries for the cause. Ms Sadaf Zarrar, Head of Marketing at Warid Telecom, handed over the cheque to Director ISPR, Brigadier Anwaar Ahmed at a ceremony held at Fortress Stadium, Lahore.
Abu Dhabi Group, which solely owns Warid Telecom, is one of the largest business groups in the Middle East and the single largest foreign investor in Pakistan. Being one of the major contributors towards the Pakistani economy, the Group understands its position and is well committed to keep the economic progress on the right path. Warid Telecom is also investing over $400 million to enhance its network infrastructure in Pakistan. The Abu Dhabi Group last year announced to invest $45 billion in Pakistan which is the largest single foreign investment in Pakistan.
 These projects include the construction of the tallest building of the world in Karachi. Moreover, the project encompasses sports, education, medical, media and international cities as well as construction of miniatures of the Seven Wonders of the World. These projects will employ more than 2.5 million people and will boost more than 55 industries in Pakistan.
As part of its emergency response program, there are a number of corporate social efforts that Warid Telecom and other group companies are making to contribute towards the well-being of the society. Be it the support to eliminate extremism or the worst flood to hit Pakistan in 2011 or even the earthquake that shook the foundations; the group companies, along with its employees, have always greatly contributed for the restoration of stability.

Launch of ‘The City Toddlers’
LAHORE (PR): The City Toddlers, an initiative by The City School, was launched in Lahore at two major campuses on successive days. The programme is already successfully established in Karachi. Alpha DHA Campus was the first to herald the arrival of the programme in Lahore on Tuesday, 16 September, while the festivities at Ravi Campus, Johar Town were held on the 18 September.
The chief guests at both events were Mrs Zainab Firoz, Director Early Years Education, and Mrs Irum Yousuf, Regional Director. Also present were Project Coordinators Saema Goraya and Afia Raheal, Art teachers Rubina Rehman and Usman Mukhtar, the School Principals and Headmistresses.
The City Toddlers is a half-day preschool for little ones aged 18 months to 30 months. The goal is to create an environment where the child’s natural desire to learn is stimulated through meaningful, appropriate, and playful learning experiences, meeting the needs of each child as an individual. Respect towards self, others and the environment is emphasised. Both structured and non-structured activities are employed at The City Toddlers to achieve our aims. Structured activities will include the use of a preschool curriculum, regular reading times, circle times, arts and crafts, and musical activities.
According to the Director, Mrs Zainab Firoz, “The programme of The City Toddlers seeks to ensure that every child gets a safe, healthy, emotionally secure and intellectually rich start. Special focus will be on an enabling environment, learning and development and building positive relationships, all geared towards supporting every child in becoming a unique individual”.
Regional Director Ms Irum Yousuf said that the intention at The City Toddlers is to lay the foundation for students to become lifelong learners by providing classes that are brimming with discovery, exploration, excitement and enthusiastic hands-on learning.
The City Toddlers has already been successfully launched in the Southern Region. In addition to the two Lahore campuses, Alpha DHA Campus and Ravi Campus, the programme will also be starting shortly in the Chenab Campus, Faisalabad, with future projects also in the pipeline.

PTCL, UBL  introduce online bill payment solution
KARACHI (PR): Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has partnered with United Bank Limited (UBL) to introduce an online bill payment service which will enable their customers to pay bills and recharge prepaid services online through credit and debit cards with ease.
This online bill payment service, based on UBL’s internet based cutting-edge payment system, provides PTCL customers with a secure, easy and efficient way to make payments of their monthly telephone and broadband bills.
In addition to automatically restoring customer accounts, this service will also enable customers to recharge PTCL EVO prepaid. The agreement was signed by Mohamed Essa Al-Taheri, EVP Cost & Credit Management, PTCL and Syed Taha Afzal, Head of Consumer Finance, UBL at a ceremony held at PTCL Headquarters.
