LAHORE - Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority has set an objective of ensuring ease of access to people with disabilities, impairments and conditions at its airports in the upcoming future. In this regard, CAA in collaboration with the Network of Organisations Working for People with Disabilities, Pakistan (NOWPDP) has arranged an access audit of Jinnah International Airport Karachi. The audit will be performed from the 27th April to 03rd May, 2010. Asian Peoples Disability Alliance, a UK based charity organisation of disabled people, has agreed to perform the audit on a Pro-bono basis and the organisations representative has flown in to Pakistan to conduct the audit. The objective is enhancement in the quality of services and facilities specifically for people with disabilities, impairments and conditions with the purpose of identifying the current gaps to ensure CAA meets international best practices.
